Board Member, The Heinz Endowments
André T. Heinz became Chairman of The Heinz Endowments in October, 2016. He succeeded his mother, Teresa Heinz, who had served as Chairman for 25 years and who continues to serve on the foundation’s Board as Chair Emeritus.
Mr. Heinz has been especially instrumental in developing the Endowments’ focus on environmental and sustainability issues and is a co-founder of the p4 Pittsburgh initiative in partnership with Mayor Bill Peduto and the City of Pittsburgh. The initiative – based around the unifying framework of People, Planet, Place and Performance – is designed to create a new sustainable, innovative and inclusive model for development, designed to establish Pittsburgh as a “city of the future.”
